When to use
Use when adjusting renally cleared drug doses in adults.
How to use
Enter the patient age in years.
Enter the patient height in centimeters.
Enter the patient actual body weight in kilograms.
Select the patient sex.
Enter the most recent serum creatinine in mg/dL. Result updates automatically as values are entered.
Result shows CrCl using actual body weight, ideal body weight, and, when actual weight exceeds ideal weight, adjusted body weight.
Pitfalls and drawbacks
Inaccurate in unstable renal function, extremes of body weight, or pregnancy.

Additional information
Cockcroft-Gault uses actual body weight. For obese or edematous patients, consider using an adjusted or ideal body weight instead. Result is an estimate only and should be interpreted alongside clinical judgement.
